Disaster Recovery
RWBC has worked on some of the largest disaster recovery efforts in the United States. We have extensive experience working with public entities applying for state and federal aid, as well as with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on various disaster recovery programs including Public Assistance (PA), Hazard Mitigation (HM), Small Rental Assistance (HUD), Alternative Housing Programs (HUD, CDBG). We have developed our own patent-pending processes and software to manage all financial aspects of disaster recovery. We have experience working with clients to identify damage, prepare necessary applications and negotiate insurance settlements. Further we have worked to:
- Review the Public Assistance program of a state in the Southeast to evaluate the adequacy of their policies and procedures used to manage disaster recovery activities.
- Provide insurance settlement services on a large-hub airport to successfully negotiate insurance payments to facilitate release of Federal disaster recovery funds.
- Handle all financial aspects of FEMA’s PA program.
- Develop for the state level custom reporting tools that extract information from NEMIS, state systems and other ad-hoc systems used on disaster recovery activities using SQL and MS Access platforms.
- Implement training program for managing financial aspects of disaster recovery activities.
